Be Still is an original painting of a prescribed burn in the Florida Everglades. While most of my work focuses on the intense fires of the western landscape, living in Florida for four years gave me a new perspective and understanding of using fire as a way to manage the natural landscape. It is incredible to see fire used in the south to help nature thrive.
This landscape features a billowing smoke cloud and Florida landscape full of water and calming colors. This piece is a reminder that when life events seem overwhelming, be still. To face your fears and uncertainties takes courage. And when we are still in those moments we show our courage and gain perspective and understanding of what is happening.
This piece will bring courage, hope, and peace into your space.
Comes with a frame. This piece was also part of the historic show, “Certain Women” held in Salt Lake City and Provo, Utah in 2018.
Painting 16 x 20 inches, oil on canvas. With frame 19 x 23 inches.
