One of the first few on-site (plain air) painting sessions I did just around the corner from my home. I wanted to capture the young and old trees on this established and busy road.

“Young and Old on McGuire Avenue” portrays the trees with texture and a variety of pinks as the blossoms and light change through the afternoon. The trees create a beautiful overhead covering while walking or driving under them. Some younger trees have had to be planted when older ones were weather damaged or removed for safety reasons.

The feeling of old and new coming together to create beauty is something I hope this piece achieves for the viewer. This piece aims to celebrate those in our lives, young and old, that have a special place in the road of our heart and minds, creating magic and loving memories for us.
