From my new work, "Worthy Battle" is 5x7 inch, oil on canvas. This piece has been haunting me. I've painted over 5 scenes on it over the course of 4 years. I finally painted this scene and it felt just right. 

It was a worthy battle of a painting, and that's why this is the title. It also reminds us that when things in life are difficult, to never give up. If you believe in what you're fighting for, it is a worthy battle. I came so close to just throwing this canvas away, but I believed I could create something that I loved and would be beautiful. Sometimes it takes layers and layers of changes, and struggles, before we reach the point of peace, beauty, and understanding.
