“The Way of Holiness”

My first triptych, The Way Of Holiness, shows the lifecycle of the landscape. The before, during, and after a wildfire are striking contrasts and to me, holy scenes. The orange poppies of California mark the beginning of spring and new life. The wildfire marks the challenges we each face that are painful, yet help us each to become strong and resilient. The final scene of gold, new life, shining through the ashes symbolizing faith that endures and grows bigger. It is after the trial of our faith that we come to understand and know things more deeply.

 The journey we are each on is sanctifying us—it is the way of holiness. And after all the trials we experience it is our faith that will shine through the ashes, beaming with light, promise, and blessings. 

This scene is sure to evoke a constant reminder to have perspective each day, and each challenge we face.
