From my new collection, created in 2017, "Humbled Earth" is 24x48 inch, oil on canvas. It is the largest piece of my new work. I love the light from the sun shining through the smoke--a reminder to never give up in your darkest days. It reminds me to have strength like the earth, but more importantly, to be humble in our challenges. Through humility we learn more, and love and serve others. The earth is humble, especially when consumed with fire. It can do nothing but stand still, humbled by the power of fire. I love the interplay of the elements of nature and try to apply that to my life.
