From my new work, "Help From Above" is 4x4 inches, oil on wood panel. 2017. A piece inspired by helitack wildland firefighting. Suppression efforts are not usually something I paint and depict but I loved this image with the colors and wanted to try it at least once!

I painted this with thicker layers of paint and used my palette knife to lay in the blue sky and clouds. It's one of my favorites to look at because of the boldness of the blue sky alongside the red retardant. "Help From Above" symbolizes how we can receive the help we need from above, especially through prayer and faith.
