Drought
Drought
From my new work, "Drought" is 24x30 inches, acrylic on gallery wrapped canvas. I started creating this piece while I was in Utah last summer as part of my ART & ADVENTURE trip to study wildfires out west. I completed this piece earlier this year in my studio. It depicts a barren landscape, California during it's drought, and a fire burning the already parched land.
This piece reminds me to replenish the things that matter most in our lives--tangible or intangible-- that help us survive, thrive, and be joyful each day. Like water to the land is so needed, when it's not present disaster is eminent. What we build, nourish, and devote our energies to will either help or hinder us in our battles. And even though we may experience a drought and be in dire need of so much, remember to look up and have hope, and get to work on what we need to change in our circumstances.
